June

Reverend Mark led worship and with some of the Year Six children played a game of ‘ Play your cards right’.  He used this to explain that not knowing what will happen in the future can be a bit frightening. However, Christians believe that God knows the future and he sees us and cares about us. Christians believe that if we walk into the future holding God’s hand and trusting in him, we will be in the best company. God is loving and powerful. We can trust him even when the future is uncertain.

Prayer

Dear God,

Thank you that you love us and care about us.

Thank you that although we can’t predict the future,

We can know that you will always be with us, whatever we do and wherever we go.

Please help us to trust you.

Please help us to find other people whom we can trust and talk to about our fears.

Amen.

Last Wednesday Reverend Mark took Collective Worship and talked to us about the Trinity.  This year Trinity took place on Sunday 15th June.

He shared a story about a boy who grew up in a peaceful fishing village that is later devastated by war. He finds comfort in memories of joyful days at the harbour and hides under an old boat to escape the horrors around him. One day, he sees a triangle of light breaking through the dark sky, which reminds him of the Holy Trinity and gives him hope. Inspired, he begins drawing to express the hope he felt, using his art to uplift others. Even after the war ends, his "triangle of light" becomes a lasting symbol of faith, showing that God is always present, even in the darkest times.

Dear God,

Our lives can be full of things that trouble us.

Every day we see the suffering of others.

Help us to bring hope and peace to all we meet, through the teachings of Jesus and the love of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.
