Joseph the Dreamer

Open the Book shared the story of Joseph the Dreamer.  The story showed a powerful example of resilience, forgiveness, and faith. It allowed us to see how circumstances that seem unfair or painful can ultimately lead to something good.

Joseph was a young man with big dreams! He was Jacob’s favourite son, and his father gave him a beautiful, colourful coat. But Joseph’s brothers were jealous. They didn’t like his dreams where he seemed important, so one day they sold him to traders who took him far away to Egypt.

Life in Egypt wasn’t easy. Joseph worked hard for a man named Potiphar, but then he was put in prison even though he had done nothing wrong. Still, Joseph trusted God. While in prison, he helped people by explaining their dreams. Later, Pharaoh—the king of Egypt—had strange dreams, and Joseph explained them too! He said a big famine was coming, and Pharaoh made Joseph a leader to save food for everyone.

Years later, Joseph’s brothers came to Egypt to buy food. They didn’t know Joseph was now a powerful leader! When Joseph told them who he was, they were afraid. But Joseph forgave them and said, “God used what happened for good.” Joseph’s story reminds us that even when life is hard, God has a plan.
