After Jesus went back to heaven, His friends (the disciples) felt a bit unsure and were waiting for something special that Jesus had promised.

They stayed together in a room, praying and waiting.

Then suddenly… something AMAZING happened!

A loud sound, like a strong rushing wind, filled the house. 

Next, they saw what looked like little flames of fire resting above each person’s head—but it didn’t hurt at all! 

This was God’s Holy Spirit coming to help them.

Straight away, the disciples felt brave and full of joy. Even more amazing—they began to speak in different languages they had never learned before! 

Outside, lots of people from different countries were visiting the city. When they heard the noise, they came running.

They were so surprised because everyone could understand the disciples in their own language! 

Peter stood up and told everyone the good news about Jesus—that He is alive and loves them.

Many people believed, and that day became the beginning of the Church.
