Year One Parables
Year One invited Reverend Mark in to talk to the children about parables. He explained that these are a source of guidance for some Christians. He then told us the parable of the Seeds. (Matthew 13, Mark 4, Luke 8), A farmer scatters seeds on four types of ground: path, rocky, thorny, and good soil, representing different human responses to God's word (the seed), with only the good soil producing a fruitful crop, symbolising faith taking root and flourishing. It's a story about spiritual growth, varying receptiveness to the Gospel, and the importance of understanding and acting upon God's message.
