Monday 13th July

Good morning Year 2!

I hope you've all had a good weekend and enjoyed the return of the sunny weather!

Some of you will be in school today! I bet those children are very excited and those of you who are in tomorrow will be looking forward to that!

I will add home learning to the class page this week as I have been but obviously, if you're in school, I don't expect you to access this as well on that day.

So, for today and tomorrow, there will be just one English and Maths task, plus the spellings. The rest of week will finish our exciting seaside topic! I really hope you've enjoyed that! I have enjoyed seeing some of the brilliant work you've done for it and it's such a shame we couldn't be in school together to enjoy it. It's one of my favourite topics to teach!

So, if you are home learning today, the Maths task continues with telling the time. It moves on today to telling the time to 5 minute intervals. The link for online video is here...https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-2/. Click on Lesson 1 for this week.

In English, we continue with the Quangle Wangle poem work. Today is all about designing a story map for one of the verses of the poem. I remember you doing a brilliant job earlier in the year with a similar task, where you had to retell the owl and the pussy cat poem as a story, so I know you'll be good at this!

The spellings this week are on question words and grammar terms, which we would use in class. As usual, there are various ideas for activities you can try to help you learn them.

I hope you enjoy the tasks if you are at home and I hope you have a great time in school, either today or tomorrow! I can't believe we've reached the last week of the year.

Have a good day!

Mr Finn
