Religious Education

We are pleased to continue our work with our charity ‘Kids Club Kampala’.  They are a charity which work to support vulnerable children and families in Uganda, providing for their immediate needs and strengthening their futures through educating, feeding, protecting and skilling.

As a school we are also keen to support the local area and in partnership with the ‘Shustoke  Recreation Ground Working Group’ who are raising money in order to transform the park area at the back of school for local families.

Our Worship Council met and decided to organise a sponsored event.  In the Summer of 2023 this was in the form of an obstacle course. The money raised was equally divided between the two charities.

More recently our Worship Council were thinking of ways to demonstrate some of our school values.  They decided that we would be able to show the values: hope, compassion and respect, by helping other people less fortunate than ourselves at this special time of year.  As a group they came up with the idea of a ‘Reverse advent calendar’. This is where each child within a class brings in an item for donation during advent and at the end of the term everything was donated to a local food bank.  The children spoke to Reverend Mark Waterstreet and together decided our donations would be go to the North Solihull Foodbank.
