Hello Year 5

Last Sunday was a special day for Christians. It was the Day of Pentecost. The Day of Pentecost marks fifty days since Easter Day and brings the Easter season to an end. It is a special part of the Church’s year when Christians recall how God’s Holy Spirit was given to the disciples after Jesus’ ascension.

I’ve uploaded some creative Pentecost themed activities for you to complete this week and there is a prayer you can use if you would like to.

It would be fantastic to see some photographs of your work. You can send them to shustokelearning@welearn365.com

Dear Year 5,

Attached below is a physical activities booklet for you to work through one afternoon this week for the ‘Joy of Moving’ festival. You can choose which day you do it but try to set aside a full afternoon so you can complete the activities. This is a fun scheme for KS2 children, which has been created by the Football League and sent to us at Shustoke by Birmingham City FC. In the booklet, you will see there are lots of different physical challenges to try at home, but also there are games and word searches that you can have a go at. Obviously, you can pick and choose which activities you want to try. You don’t have to do all of them! The main thing is that you have fun! All the information you will need to take part is within the booklet. Enjoy!!

Joy of Moving

Good afternoon Year 5,

I hope you are having a lovely day. As lots of us are doing our work on computers or devices with the internet we must remember about Online Safety which is very important at the moment. I have come across some brilliant videos and activities by thinkuknow who are part of the police force keeping us safe. There are 3 videos at the moment with more on the way with an activity to go alongside each. There is also a ‘Band runner’ game you can have a go at as well as lots of information about staying safe online.

Remember if you’re unsure about anything – tell an adult.
