Fun Science Big Experiment

Hello Year 2smiley

Have you ever carried out the biscuit dunking experiment? This experiment is perfect for introducing children to the scientific method – plus it’s great fun too!

Fun Science want to find out once and for all which the best biscuit is for dunking into a nice cool glass of milk and they need your help. They want children across the country to all take part in one GIANT biscuit dunking experiment and they will be collating the results.

All you will need for this experiment is three different types of biscuit (any brand), a glass/mug and some water.

Parents can click here to download our free teachers/parents guide.

You can then download either the

KS1 Worksheet and table of results
KS2 Worksheet and table of results

Click here to access the Youtube video and dunk along with Chemical Cress!

Once you have completed the biscuit dunking experiment, click here to fill in a simple form and send them your results. They will be collating results on the 8th July 2020 so you have plenty of time to send yours in. They will then be releasing their results so that children really feel that they are part of a real scientific experiment.

Have fun

Friday 12th June

Hello Year 2!

I hope you've all had a good week and have enjoyed learning all about Lundy and the seaside work on Weston-Super-Mare yesterday. All this talk of the seaside makes me want to go! It's been lovely to see some work sent into school, which I have added to the photo gallery above. Keep it coming! I'm particularly looking forward to seeing some of your Lundy Art and DT work.

The topic work for today is already uploaded below. You will notice above that Miss Mews has added this week's Science challenge! All of the information you need to give it a go is there.

For Maths today, there is a football theme. Apologies if this isn't your thing! BBC Bitesize have a football themed Friday Maths challenge for you to try if you'd like to. The link for which is here...https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zsvgn9q

It's not too late to enter the Virtual School Games Dance competition. Details for this can be found on the 'all classes' page.

I hope you have a good day today and a good weekend!

Mr Finn

Thursday 11th June

Good morning Year 2,

I hope you have enjoyed learning all about Lundy Island this week and have enjoyed making a model or doing some Artwork! I've already received some emails with some excellent work! I'm really looking forward to seeing more!

For today, I have added the next Seaside topic task. This week, we are returning to our work on Weston-Super-Mare. Everything you need to know is explained in the documents below. I have also added today's Maths task.

I hope you have a good day!

Mr Finn

Wednesday 10th June

Good morning Year 2!

I hope you're having a good week so far and are enjoying the learning about Lundy Island. As promised, today's main activity is an Art and DT task. I'd like you to have a go at making a model Lundy Island or doing a painting or drawing of it.

Below, I have attached a document which will help you in doing this and give you some ideas. This is potentially quite a big task so it's unlikely you will be able to finish it today. Take your time so you can do your best work. I look forward to seeing what you make. If you send in pictures, I will add them to the class gallery.

I have also added today's Maths task. Can I also point you in the direction of the 'all classes' page where you will see details of this week's Virtual School Games challenge. This week, it's Dance. It would be good if we could have some children from Y2 have a go!

Enjoy your day!

Mr Finn

Tuesday 9th June

Good morning Year 2!

I hope you're all well and enjoyed the seaside task yesterday. If you didn't manage to watch the video yesterday, you will need to do so before attempting today's English writing task. I have also added today's Maths task. Click this link and watch the video for lesson 2 to support today's maths...https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-2/

I hope you have a good day.

Mr Finn

Monday 8th June

Good morning Year 2!

I hope you've all had a good weekend. Shame about the rain, though my grass would disagree with me!

There is a theme for the first part of this week; the theme of Islands, links to our Seaside topic.

Today's English task is explained in the document below and should be a fun insight in to one island in the UK, in particular. Later in the week, there will be an Art and DT task linked to this which I'm sure you'll enjoy! Parents, this is an early heads up that you may need some cardboard, glue, newspaper and paint. indecision However, if you don't have these resources, you can still complete the task. There will be a choice of model making or drawing.

I hope you enjoy your day. Remember to keep sending your work and photos in to school via the email service so I can upload them onto the class page.

Mr Finn

Friday 5th June

Good morning Year 2!

I hope you have all had a good week. How are you getting on with the Seaside work? As I said yesterday, there's quite a lot to get through so that work will continue today. I have added two more images of Croyde and Weston to give another perspective.

The English and Maths tasks are also uploaded below.

Please send in your photos and your work pictures so I can upload them onto the gallery. It's lovely to see what you're all up to! I hope you've enjoyed seeing some of your school friends' pictures on here.

Have a good weekend and look after yourselves!

Mr Finn

Thursday 4th June

Good morning Year 2!

I hope you're enjoying the week so far and I hope you had a go at the fun Science task yesterday!

You will notice that I have now set up the Home Learning Gallery at the top of the class page, so I can upload your photos and work as you send it in to school via email. Please keep sending these in!

I have uploaded the seaside topic work, which covers today and tomorrow. Within this, there are a few different tasks to complete so you will need to spread it over a couple of days at least. You'll notice that there are quite a lot of documents that go with the work- you don't need to print them all out- you can just view them on the computer if you prefer or don't have a printer at home.

The English and Maths tasks are already on the page.

I hope you have a good day and enjoy the Seaside tasks!

Mr Finn

Wednesday 3rd June

Good morning Year 2!

I hope you're enjoying your week so far and like the English and Maths learning tasks. in addition to today's English and Maths, I have also added a fun Science experiment for you to attempt. The experiment is called 'sink or swim'. As the name suggests, you will be investigating various different objects to see if they sink or float on water. I would love to see pictures of this experiment in action!

I will be starting a pictures gallery at the top of the Year 2 page, so we can put some of your photos and work on this class page for others to see.

I hope you have a good day and enjoy the Science task in particular. It does look fun. Tomorrow, we will return to our topic work on the Seaside- I guess today's Science also links with this too?

Mr Finn

Tuesday 2nd June

Good morning Year 2!

My apologies that the daily blog is online slightly later than normal- I have had technical issues with the laptop!

Yesterday, I added all of the English and Maths tasks for the week, so they are already there for today.

In addition to this, I have added some Reading and Spelling tasks for today as well alongside some time telling activity sheets. Later in the week, I will be adding some Seaside topic work as I did last term.

I hope you have a good day and enjoy the hot weather!

Mr Finn

Monday 1st June

Good morning Year 2!

I hope you all had a lovely half term. We have been so lucky with the weather. I wonder what you have been getting up to. I can imagine lots of ice creams, paddling pools and water slides!

For the next few weeks, Mr Finn will be creating learning tasks for you to access on this page. I know he has got many exciting things planned. As well as this page, you can find more activities on the ‘All Classes’ page and there are also many activities about feelings and emotions on the ‘Well-Being’ page, which is under the ‘Parents’ section of the website.

I will be in school and available if you need to contact me via the Shustoke learning email account.

I hope to see you all soon.

Mrs Thomas smiley

Friday 22nd May

Good morning Year 2!

I hope you had a good day yesterday. Next week is half term, so there won't be any learning tasks on the class page. However, if you would like to continue researching our topic on the seaside, that would be great! Also, make sure you find time to read as often as you can to keep this skill ticking over!

Today's tasks are already attached below. There's an ICT activity to try today, which should be fun.

I hope you have a good half term break next week!

Look after yourselves. I will speak to you soon.

Mr Finn

Thursday 21st May

Good morning Year 2!

It looks like you've had a fun week full of pirate activities! Perfect to link with the topic work you did last week. It was great to see some of the pirate treasure maps you made and sent in via email! This week's topic work links with seaside towns and there is also an ICT task to try. As usual, all of the work and links you need are attached below!

Can I also point you in the direction of the Virtual School Games challenges. If you go on the 'all classes' section of this website, you'll find all the information you need! It would be nice to see some Year 2 children have a go!

Have a good day!

Mr Finn

Wednesday 20th May

Good morning Year 2

Today is going to be a scorcher so remember your sun hat and drink lots of water.

To keep you busy, I have added some further Maths tasks and a competition to enter from the fire service. It challenges you to use the tune of a nursery rhyme and make up a new song about fire safety. More instructions are on the poster I have added in the documents. I think it sounds fun and I know how good you all are at coming up with brilliant ideas.

Look after yourselves and your families.

Mrs Thomas smiley

Tuesday 19th May

Good morning fellow pirates!

I hope you are enjoying the learning tasks so far this week. I wonder what pirate names you came up with for your top trumps- I can imagine some are quite funny!

Today I have added a code breaker word challenge and a memory game to play with your family, which I think you will enjoy.

Remember to keep up with your reading- it really is the key to learning.  You can sign up to the Oxford Owl website for free (with permission and help from your parents) and read ebooks online. They are also sorted into the colour bands like in school.

Keep smiling smiley

Mrs Thomas

Monday 18th May

Good morning Year 2,

Ahoy, Me Hearties and welcome to Pirate Week! The learning tasks I have planned below are all about pirates. I hope you enjoy them! There is a story to watch and enjoy in English, a pirate top trumps challenge in Maths, some Science experiments to try and some instructions to show you how to make a pirate hat. So come aboard land lubbers and let's explore the seven seas. Aaarrrggghhhh! laugh

Friday 15th May

Good morning Year 2!

It's Friday again and it looks like the weather is set for the weekend! It's been lovely to see some of your work that people have done for their pirate treasure maps! I hope you're enjoying this task. The work for today continues from the pirate task. There are various activities linked to it and the Maths is also below. I have also added a pirate themed Maths task for fun.

Have a good day today and a nice weekend. I hope you manage to get outside!

Good morning Year 2!

I hope you have had a good week so far! I can see that Mrs Thomas has kept you busy with lots of fun activities. I have added Maths and Topic tasks today. Click on the documents below to discover what they are!

Have a good day!

Mr Finn

Good afternoon Year 2,

I hope you are having a lovely day. As lots of us are doing our work on computers or devices with the internet we must remember about Online Safety which is very important at the moment. I have come across some brilliant videos and activities by thinkuknow who are part of the police force keeping us safe. There are 3 videos at the moment with more on the way, following Jessie and her dog coming across problems you may have when using a device yourself. Have a watch and remember to always stay safe online- If you’re unsure of something, tell an adult.

Good morning lovely Year 2 learners smiley

I hope you are having a good week. Thank you to those who have emailed me so far this week. It is always lovely to hear from you and see what you have been up to. Well done to AG who was the first to solve the riddle from yesterday- it was a clock!

For a fun starter in Maths, I have added another of our favourite videos below. It is to help recap your number bonds to 10. Afterwards you could use them to help you recall the number bonds to 20. For example, if you know 8+2=10, then 18+2=20. You could make a poster or list to display around your home so you learn them off by heart yes

I have also added a task to write an acrostic poem about the seaside.

Keep up the good work.

Mrs Thomas

I Know My Number Bonds 10 | Number Bonds to 10 | Addition Song for Kids | Jack Hartmann

I'm sure you will all remember this video from earlier in the year! It will help you recap your number bonds to 10. Enjoy :)

Tuesday 12th May

Good morning Year 2!

I hope you enjoyed some of the learning tasks from yesterday. Hopefully the Maths made you think but wasn't too tricky. I have added a Geography based task to follow on from our food technology project from last week. It is about where in the world food comes from. I was surprised to see that the raspberries I bought last week were from Morocco, which is a country in Africa!

Have a good day.

Mrs Thomas smiley

P.S. Can you solve my riddle?

What has a face and two hands but no arms or legs?

Monday 11th May

Good morning Year 2,

How was your VE day? I'm sure you noticed lots of flags and people celebrating around where you live. I had an afternoon tea with scones, cream and jam- it was delicious! I hope you managed to take a moment to think about those who fought in the war.

I have added some new and exciting learning tasks for you below. In English we will continue to do some work around The Elves and the Shoemaker, and Maths takes us through some number puzzles to get your brains working! In other subjects, there are some music tasks this week and a poster to design about keeping safe in the sun.

Remember to keep challenging yourselves and mostly importantly, enjoy it!

Mrs Thomas smiley

Maidin mhaith gach duine!

I thought I'd jump on the foreign language greetings that I've seen from the other teachers' class pages! Don't think I've seen this one yet!laugh I'll let you all research what language it is. The clue is in my name!

Today is VE Day! There are lots of fun activities on the class page below for you to try if you would like. Or, you may have other fun things planned for today. I spoke to lots of you on the phone this week who said you are celebrating VE Day in different, exciting ways. Have fun and I hope you have a good weekend.

Thursday 7th May

Hello Year 2!

I hope you've had a good week so far! I've been looking at the photos you've been sending in of your work and it's clear that you're working really hard at home. It was lovely to speak to some of you on the phone on Tuesday! Mrs Thomas and I shared this job so hopefully you will have spoken to one of us. There are one or two children who I didn't manage to speak to on Tuesday. I will be trying again today.

For your home learning today, you will see that the English and Maths tasks are already on the page. I have also added some topic work for you and some arts and crafts activities linked to VE Day. Don't forget that Mrs Harrison has also planned those other excellent activities for VE Day, which are on the page below!

Have a great day!

Mr Finn

Wednesday 6th May

Konnichiwa Year 2! (That means 'Good Day' in Japanese!)

Some of you spoke to Mr Finn yesterday - he said it was lovely to catch up with you and hear how you've been getting on. I will be continuing the phone calls this morning and I can't wait!

In terms of learning, I've added a PSHE lesson for today. It's all about the steps we take to learn something new, even if it feels challenging sometimes. I hope you enjoy it.

Mrs Preece has added a link in the VE Day resources where you can click on it to hear songs from World War 2- you might recognise some of them from singing assemblies. You could make up a dance to one of the songs and perform it to your family!

Have a good rest of the week and enjoy the long weekend.

Mrs Thomas yes

P.S. Well done to those who have sent in pictures or a description of your edible boat- they look fantastic and delicious!

Good Morning Year Two!

You have all been working so hard and it is lovely to see the photographs you have sent in.

As you know it is VE day on Friday and you have a bingo board full of activities for you to try.

Here are some ideas for you to do on Friday 8th May:

  • Dress up in Red, White and Blue
  • Create some VE day bunting to display in your window or garden
  • Make a VE day flag, see photograph for step by step guide. (in the pictures file below)
  • Learn the words to 'We'll Meet Again'
  • Sit down and watch the Queens special televised address to the nation.
  • Lego Challenge - Can you build a VE day inspired masterpiece?  An aeroplane or a VE day tea party.
  • Enjoy a picnic in the garden.  Or host a pretend tea party.  Make paper sandwiches and drink pretend tea, don't forget to invite your toys to the party.

Don't forget to send us some photographs in.

Mrs Harrison

Tuesday 5th May

Good morning Year 2

I hope you are enjoying the learning tasks so far this week. I have added a spelling challenge about pets- you have to unscramble the letters. Since the forecast says it will be sunny tomorrow, I have also added an activity for you to try outside, which I think you will enjoy. It is called shadow monsters!

I am really enjoying all the work and pictures you are emailing in. I’m so proud of you all for keeping up with your learning and having a positive attitude.

Enjoy the sunshine and remember to keep active!

Mrs Thomas

I found this is my garden today! What do you think it is? Maybe you could find out for me. I wondered if it was some kind of dragonfly. The wings are almost transparent, yet so beautifully detailed.

Monday 4th May

Good morning Year 2!

I hope you had a lovely weekend with your families. I’ve been very busy in the garden and the vegetable patch is looking good. Slugs ate some of our cauliflower plants though!

Welcome to another exciting week of home learning. You will find lots of new tasks below, including an interesting Design Technology project about boats to fit in with our topic about the seaside. I would be interested to see your finished products, so do email them in to me. We complete our Science topic about habitats by investigating rock pools, where you will learn about new animals and how they survive. Don’t forget to look at the VE Day resources from last week.

I hope you are getting on well at home; Mr Finn and I are looking forward to talking to you on the phone this week!

Mrs Thomas smiley

Hello Year 2!

Already, children are starting to send their seaside answers in. It's brilliant to see that you are choosing to answer so many of each other's questions.

If you click on the document below, called 'Seaside Answers', you will be able to see who has responded and whose question they have chosen to answer. Has your question been answered yet?

This document will be updated as I receive new answers.

Also, next week on Friday 8th May, is a very special celebration called VE Day. This stands for Victory in Europe and celebrates the end of World War 2 in 1945. This year it is especially important as it marks 75 years since this event.

To mark this occasion, each class has been set some tasks, which Mrs Harrison has kindly put together for you all. Below, is a set of resources and tasks for you to attempt throughout next week. The first document is called, 'VE Day Bingo Board'. In this document, you will find various activities. There are also some resources alongside this, which you will need to help you in completing each task. They are all named appropriately. I hope you enjoy completing these and learn lots of interesting facts about VE Day.

I hope you have a good weekend and look forward to speaking with you next week. On Tuesday and Wednesday, Mrs Thomas and I will be making some phone calls home to check that you are all OK!

Stay Safe!

Mr Finn

Friday 1st May

Hello Year 2!

I hope you’ve had a good week! The work for today in English, Maths and Topic is already on the page below. However, I have also set you a ‘2do’ on Purple Mash, which links perfectly with today’s Maths work on Position and Direction. I believe you have your Purple Mash Log in inside your home learning journal. The app I’ve set you is called ‘2go’. I look forward to seeing how you get on with it! Also, keep emailing your work into school! I love receiving all your emails and I will do my best to reply promptly!

Have a nice weekend and stay safe!

Mr Finn

Thursday 30th April

Hi Y2!

I hope you've had a good week and have enjoyed the learning activities! The English and Maths tasks are already on here for Thursday and Friday as you can see below. I have now added topic/writing tasks for Thursday and Friday too. There will also be an ICT task for you to try on Friday.

Well done to all of you who have emailed in your seaside questions!. As you'll see from the tasks for this week, we will be working with those.

Mr Finn

Wednesday 29th April

Good morning Year 2

It’s been lovely weather for ducks today!

How are you finding the Maths challenges this week? I’m enjoying them because I find graphs interesting and I like working out what they are showing. Don’t forget to keep practising your times tables. If you have mastered the twos, fives and tens, move onto the threes or even fours!

I have added a compound words spelling activity to keep you busy, as well as a link to the Forestry England website, where you can download and print some tree top trump cards amongst other things.

Be brilliant, as always! angel

Mrs Thomas

P.S. Well done to those who have already completed the challenges on Purple Mash. I will set some more for you!

Tuesday 28th April

Good morning Year 2!

I hope you're enjoying the week so far. Thank you for the emails with photos of what you've been getting up to- it's wonderful to see your smiling faces. How are you finding the Greek Myth? I know it's a bit tricky to read but we often learn the most when things are a bit challenging. For a change, I've set some tasks to do on Purple Mash this week. One is about animals homes and the other is an art activity about the seaside. Please email the office if your login details aren't working. Don't forget to check you are using the right capital or lower case letters first! I've also added some ideas for seaside craft projects and a game to play.

Keep working hard and keep smiling.

Mrs Thomas yes

Monday 27th April

Happy Monday Year 2!

I hope you had a lovely weekend. This week’s learning tasks are challenging yet fun. We will continue our Habitats project in Science and I have added some RE work that will help you think about caring for others. English this week is based on a Greek Myth (a story from ancient Greece!) and Mr Finn has planned some exciting Maths challenges for you.  Are you still remembering to join up your handwriting as best you can? I'm so looking forward to hearing about all the things you have been up to in the past few weeks.

Mrs Thomas smiley

Seaside Questions...

Well done to everyone who has sent in their questions about the seaside! I was impressed with them! You have really thought about some interesting things to learn about.

I have put the questions I've had back so far in the document below. Can you see yours? If you would like to research and answer any of the questions, send your answers or a picture of your work to the Admin email address and I will put your answers on this page!

It's not too late to send your questions in! I can keep adding them to the document!

One or two of you have asked what my favourite ice cream flavour is...it's Vanilla. You may want to add that to your tally chart.

I hope you've enjoyed the activities for yesterday and today!

Have a nice weekend and enjoy the sunshine!

Mr Finn

Friday 24th April

Hi Everyone!

I hope you've had a good day on Thursday! I have attached the learning tasks for Friday, below. Everything is explained in the document called 'Friday 24th April'.

Any resources you require are also attached below.

Enjoy and look after yourselves!

Mr Finn

Thursday 23rd April

Hello Year 2!

I hope you’re all doing OK and still managed to have a fun time at Easter! I bet you were all spoilt with lots of Easter eggs. It must be difficult not being able to share them with the teachers at school!? wink

I have attached some exciting learning tasks below in the Document called 'Thursday 23rd April'. Very original name, I know! Everything is explained in there and all the links you need are provided also. I have attached a document called 'Map of UK', which you will need for one of the tasks, if you have a printer.

I shall speak to you tomorrow!

Mr Finn

Wednesday 22nd April

Good morning Year 2

How did you get on with the tally charts? Luckily we have practised counting in fives a lot, so I’m sure you will have mastered it quickly. For those of you who like a challenge, I have added a tricky maths investigation below- you need two dice and a lot of thinking! I’ve also added a ‘spelling detectives’ activity and a reading challenge.

Yesterday I was busy researching starfish and the two facts I found most interesting were:

  1. If a starfish loses an arm, it can grow another!
  2. Their arms have suckers on so they can crawl along the ocean floor.

Keep checking this page for more exciting learning tasks from Mr Finn for the rest of the week and I will look forward to checking in with you next week. Look after yourselves and try and think of something you are thankful for every day.

Mrs Thomas smiley

P.S. If you check the ‘All Classes’ page, I have added something about St George’s day, which is on Thursday this week.

One of our favourite Year 2 songs! Sing along and enjoy :)

What you can do if you are worried.

Tuesday 21st April

Good morning Year 2

Our topic this term is ‘Seaside’ so you will see lots of learning tasks based around this over the next few weeks. Mr Finn has got some fascinating History and Geography tasks for you and our Science unit about Habitats starts more locally before investigating creatures that live on the seashore.  You have probably noticed that our Art project based on ‘Castle and Sun’ by Paul Klee features many warm colours and a landscape of shapes that could show a seaside village. Feel free to come up with your own learning projects if there is something that really interests you about the seaside. I find starfish fascinating and would love to find out more about them. I’ll report back my findings! Have a super day.

Mrs Thomas yes

Monday 20th April

Welcome back Year 2! I hope you had a wonderful Easter holiday and enjoyed spending time with your families. I had a fun time and I'm really glad to see the sunshine back again. If you scroll down I have added some learning tasks for you to tackle this week. Keep checking this page, as I add new things every day. I think you'll enjoy the art challenge this week. You could take a photo of your finished piece and email it into school so I can see your creations. As well as that, I have put a tongue twister challenge up, which I think will make you giggle. I wonder who can create their own tongue twister to try out on their family? Don't forget to keep reading and practising your times tables.

Mrs Thomas smiley

Would you like to make a mini-me of people you can't be with at the moment?

Try making this game to practise your Phonics:

Hello Year 2 smiley

I hope you're all well and have been enjoying your exciting home learning activities. Did you spot many butterflies in your garden? I've seen quite a few this week!

I wanted to let you know that I have put up some fun worship ideas on the school website. You can find them by clicking Church and Community and then Our Values and School Prayer.

It's nearly Easter time too, so I have put a link up with some ideas for making your own Easter themed art.

Have a lovely day

Hi Year 2!

I hope you are all well and staying safe! I have attached some activities below in the section 'Learning tasks for week beginning 30th March' for you to enjoy on Thursday and Friday. I can see you've been very busy this week with lots of exciting activities from Mrs Thomas and I hope you'll enjoy these too!

I miss you all and hope that things can return to normal soon!

Mr Finn

Wednesday 1st April

Happy Wednesday to all my lovely Year 2 learners!

Have you measured the length of your shoes yet? My shoes were 25cm long! If you scroll down, you’ll find some images of a measuring scale with the amount of cms next to it. You could measure how tall you are in cm and find out what you’re as big as. I’m as tall as the Olympic high jump record. I can’t believe someone can jump that high!

I’ve added some more activities for you below. There are some based around Easter which are interesting to complete. As well as that, I’ve put a link to Harold’s daily diary. Do you remember our friend Harold the Giraffe from the Life Education Trailer? He will help you to keep healthy and safe while you are at home. I hope you enjoy reading his blog.

Bonjour Year 2! I hope you are keeping busy. Scroll down to find some Tuesday Challenges.

Since you are researching animals this week in English, here are some fun facts...

Kangaroos can't walk backwards.

Crocodiles can't stick out their tongues.

Hippos can run faster than humans.

You could find out some of your own and make a 'Fascinating Facts' section in your animal report. Good luck!

Monday 30th March

Good Morning Year 2

I hope you are all well and enjoying spending time with your lovely families. I have been busy finding lots of activities and learning tasks for you to do at home- I hope you enjoy them yes. I have also been planting some seeds in my greenhouse with my little girl Ivy (although she often puts more soil on the floor than in the pots!) We have planted carrots, onions, spinach, tomatoes and courgettes. We're hoping for lots of sunshine to help them grow and we will be watering them every day. I wonder what you've been up to in your garden?

I miss you all very much and I hope to see you soon.

Mrs Thomas smiley

Oh you lucky ducky!

Remember this? I know this will put a smile on your faces :)

Good afternoon Year 2.

How are you getting on with all the lovely activities that your teachers have planned?

If you scroll down the class page and open up the Rainbow Activity you will see a rainbow that Mrs Griffin made from natural things in her garden. When I tried, I could only find shades of cream, yellow and green, but today some more flowers have appeared so I'm going to have another go. Why don't you get out in the garden and try too? If you'd like, you could photograph your rainbows and send them in to us - Mrs Griffin and I would love to see them!

Good Morning Year 2! yes

We hope you are all well and enjoying the learning tasks posted on this page. We will be adding activities all the time, so keep checking the section of the page with this week's date.

You don't need a printer - we are happy for you to work straight into your home learning book.

Mrs Thomas and Mr Finn

Have you noticed the many beautiful butterflies around this week? Can you identify any of them using the chart below? You could make a tally chart or a graph to display your results. You could also do an observational drawing of one of your favourites.
